The building is art déco style and is known as El Moro because it looked like a Moorish store. It is considered one of the first skyscrapers of the city of Mexico, it has 22 floors and a height of 107 meters. It was opened in 1945. It houses the National Lottery.
Features of the building that stand out are that it was the first one in the world to be built by floating elastic medium; the first in Latin America that used a gas neon sign, and the first place where a television signal was transmitted in 1950, and that was the Channel 4 of XHTV.
