Galería Agustina Ferreyra

The Galería Agustina Ferreyra  primarily features emerging Latin American artists. With exhibitions often described as “ambitious,” somehow the gallery is just as often described as “intimate.” In a residential space in San Rafael, the gallery brings decades of international experience to bear on one of the hottest local visual arts neighborhoods.

Having arrived fresh from the scene in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Argentina-born Ferreyra came back to Mexico with a splash. Having worked for a private collection there, she brings her experience back to showing off younger international talent. With an understanding that no two galleries in the world are ever quite the same, the gallery here has continued to improve – the scene and the conversation – for five years now. In 2017, the gallery won the NADA International Gallery prize. The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to the cultivation, support, and advancement of new voices in contemporary art.

Sometimes traditional, sometimes way out there, the exhibition schedule is steady and openings tend to excite the entire street and often go along with the entire neighborhood. Galería Agustina Ferreyra is nearly always a strong participant in city-wide events, and still keeps up something of a presence with the international art fairs, too.
