Parque Lindavista

__

Parque Lindavista is the commercial center of the Lindavista area of the Gustavo A. Madero alcaldía, if not the entire north of the city. Opened in 2006, it’s easily among the most popular shopping centers in the city. It’s around the corner from the older Plaza Lindavista, built by Enrique del Moral to house a Sears store in 1964. Together with a collection of major medical centers, the several blocks around the shopping center constitute some of the busiest and densest commercial activity in the city.

The shopping center’s location on Montevideo Avenue, is near to Politécnico, and several Metro stations on Insurgentes avenue. All of them seem to converge here. Of course, the mall offers plenty of parking and even valet parking, for those inclined. There was, early on, some neighborhood resistance to a commercial site of this size. Today it’s a convenient and familiar part of the Lindavista community.

The shopping center is operated by Danhos Group, which also operates Parque Duraznos, Parque Delta, Parque Alameda, and Reforma 222. About 175 separate retailers occupy some four shopping levels. Parque Lindavista is also home to the big classics: Liverpool, Sanborns, and the Cinemex multiplex. With brand-name and boutique shops, there are also a number of restaurants, cafes, and entertainment venues. There’s also a drive-in carwash (cars need pampering, too!), and it’s often a stop for those coming from other parts of the city.

  • On the Metro, the shopping center is about equidistant between Metro stations Lindavista and 18 de Marzo.
