Alberto Mizrachi, Carlos Mizrachi’s father, is considered as one of the main promoters of Mexican art. He was a Greek-born naturalised Mexican who founded his first gallery in 1933 in Av. Juarez # 4, opposite the Palace of Fine Arts. From there, he internationally promoted the work of Diego Rivera, Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Frida Kahlo and Doctor Atl, among others. Immersed in the art market, Carlos Mizrachi founded his own gallery in Polanco in 1992. The artists that form part of this gallery’s artistic offering include Abel Guerrero, Carmen Maza, Águeda Lozano, Israel Montes, Leonora Carrington, Rafael Coronel, Sophia Hop and many more. The gallery is located in the lobby of the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental.
